Parking spaces and cellar space

Outside parking spaces are freely available on the students' residence premises, while underground parking spaces can be rented for EUR 50/month. Cellar spaces of approximately 4.5 square metres can be rented for the storage of personal items at a cost of EUR 20/month.

Communal facilities

The central washing and drying room has a coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryer. Bicycle stands are provided near building 1, the entrance area of building 2 and in the underground car park. Green-space areas in the ample garden complex can be used for sunbathing, with a patio for studying or get-togethers set to be added in spring 2015. A range of separate rubbish containers are provided for recycling. As signposted, the external areas, bicycle stands, underground garage and entrance halls are all monitored by video.

Note
  • Rent agreements are concluded for a minimum of 6 months or a multiple thereof as short-hold tenancy agreements. Tenancies start on summer or winter semester. Sublease is possible.
  • Handover of the accommodation is effected following payment of a rent deposit of two months' rent plus a standard additional costs payment.
  • Evidence of personal liability insurance on the part of the tenant is to be provided at the conclusion of contract.
  • Electricity charges are calculated at least once every quarter for each apartment according to actual use as recorded by the individual meter. Each occupant in a two-bedroom apartment is responsible for 50% of the respective apartment electricity costs.
  • Tenants are responsible for payment of the television license fee in accordance with the state licensing agreement (Rundfunkbeitragsstaatsvertrag). www.rundfunkbeitrag.de
  • The household charge/basic fee for rubbish collection is charged directly to occupants whose primary domicile is the students' residence by the district administration office and is not included in the standard additional costs payment. Tenants for whom the students' residence is a secondary domicile are not subject to any additional charges. www.lrasbk.de
  • The flat-rate Internet and cable TV fees are included in the standard additional costs payment.
  • A letting or brokerage fee is not charged.
